Total Solar Eclipse
1991 July 11

This very long 6-minute, 53-second eclipse with good weather prospects proved to be very popular in both Hawaii and Mexico. Alas, Hawaii was plagued by winds that formed clouds in regions of the Big Island that are normally sunny, leading to many disappointed watchers. In Mexico’s Baja, a small area of clouds formed on the centreline, depriving the most enthusiastic chasers of some of totality.
